About Us

When we became parents we looked at those tiny little creatures we had created and stared in awe, looking forward to the years as parents stretching before us.

We dealt with the sleepless nights, the feeding problems, the tottering toddlers and having eyes in the backs of our heads ready to jump up and steer them away from danger countless times a day.

We then proudly saw them off to school, went to the nativity plays and organised their play dates and social lives.

We then saw them forming their own personalities and making decisions for themselves, proudly watching them grow up…..and then the teen years came!

The teen years are usually seen as those years from 13 onwards but even our ‘pre teens’ can show ‘teen behaviour’.  And that is where this website comes in…….

You can search in book shops and on the internet and find many sources of information for parents of younger children from finding baby names to dealing with tantrums.  There are even some good books around which help you explain the facts of life, or sex education if you prefer, but where can you find information about dealing with teens?

These little cute babies have become teenagers who bring their own set of problems and issues that we have never before encountered.  Yes we have all been teens ourselves but the teens of today are growing up in a very different world and perhaps what worked for us when we were teens are no longer relevant solutions.  This is why I decide to start this website.

I was having problems with my teens that I just DID NOT know how to deal with.  I looked on the internet and found some American websites which did not seem very relevant to me.  Then I joined some famous mums networking sites but found that the people responding to me and my dilemmas were the mothers of younger children who had no idea what was about to hit them.

I hope that this site will attract parents of teenagers, or parents of young adults who’ve ‘been there and done it’ and how can share their experiences with each other.  We may not find easy solutions but at least we will know that we are not alone!

If you have any suggestions on how to improve this site then please do let me know as I want this to be a useful place to come to for words of advice but also comfort and empathy.

You are not alone!!
